The Girl Who Died Twice eBook Troy Doane

I enjoyed this book, though it was a little weird. There were some adult themes so it is NOT a book for children or tweens. A mature 16 year old could read it, but I would recommend it for 18+.
This book touches on many sensitive issues such as familial acceptance of homosexuality, marital fidelity, honesty, artificial insemination, family relationships...and many more than that, honestly.
The pace of the book was okay. Sometimes I felt like it dragged a bit, but it kept me engaged and I wanted to finish it (and find out what the title meant).
The end of the book is a beautiful picture of a father's love for his daughter, and how far he would go to protect her. It is also freaking scary and will make you wonder exactly what is going on in people's heads sometimes.
The one complaint I have is that there was no denouement. The climax of the novel happens and boom, the book is over. There is no indication of what happened then, which is rather frustrating. I would very much have liked at least a brief epilogue to tie things up.

The Girl Who Died Twice eBook Troy Doane Reviews

I like this book because it keep you wondering what was going to happen next but I would of liked to read what happened next between everyone.
Well written, and a well-developed plot line. It ended abruptly, leaving me to wonder what in the heck happens next? Definitely a set up for a sequel. But still, it was a good story.
A great read with unique characters and interesting plots. A nice change from most novels where you can see the next move coming. This one keeps you guessing. I am not a book worm, and read only a few books a year..... this fit perfectly into my "chosen few" !! It is not for everyone, as there are some disturbing events that some readers may not like. But if you like crime, murder, sex, scandal, sperm collection for monetary gain and mystery..... It's for YOU.
This is a skilfully written literary tornado. You'll form affections and hatreds for characters so believable and well developed that you feel personally affected by their behaviour, they feel tangible! One can't help but be involved in this story. You're led down the garden path, then hit in the face by a shovel. I couldn't put it down!
I liked this book. It was well written and had enough quirkiness to keep me interested throughout the whole book. I would have liked a better ending, more closure for Oceanus and Autumn, but other than that, I found it hard to put down.
I read constantly. It doesn't take too much to get me interested in most books. Too rarely do I come across a book that is this compelling though. Like most reviews have said it was almost impossible to put down. You think you know where the book is going and then he hits you with another twist. The characters were fascinating. When I finished the book I immediately looked for more books written by this author. Sadly this is his only one and it doesn't sound like he will be writing any others. What a pity...
When O. Discovers his sexuality and life changes for him, I didn't know how to feel. When he becomes a father and Ellen enters the picture, I still didn't know how to feel . Finally I felt appalled. I continued to read and was surprised I actually felt good when I finished.
